A blog for a text editor that does nothing

This is the blog for Sabo Typist, a text editor for the Mac that does not help. It will be short. An editor that does nothing does not make much news, and that is the idea. When there is a new version it will be noted here, with what moved and why. When something about the page or the manuscript needs an argument, the argument will be here.

Everything on this blog is written in the editor. That is not a boast, it is the test. If a post cannot be written in Sabo Typist, then something is wrong with Sabo Typist, and the post becomes a bug report.

What goes here

Release notes, first. Version 0.3 went out on September 27, 2026, and the next one will get a post like this, a paragraph or two on what changed. Then notes on the page: the manuscript formats, the Word file, who wants what margins and why. Now and then, something about writing at a machine that has been asked to keep quiet.

The cursor is a white bar. It waits. It does nothing until you type, and then it does exactly that.

That line is on the front page and it will keep coming up, because it is the whole product.

What does not go here

• Tips. There are no tips. ⌘N makes a document and ⌘⇧F takes the world away, and after that you type.
• Roadmaps. When a thing is done it will be here. Until then it is not promised.
• Anything a machine wrote. The blog is held to the same rule as the editor.

A post is a markdown file, one each, in a folder. The editor makes markdown, so a post starts as a document in the list and ends as a file in the folder, and the file is the post. If you want the editor, it is five dollars, once.
